WELCOME TO THE 2010 CHICO SENIOR SOFTBALL SEASON

Your board members for the 2010 season are:  President Dennis Simpson, Vice President Dennis Cawthon, Secretary Tim Klick, Treasurer Dave Morgan.  Also on the board are Ed Tietz, Pete Rouse, Paul Sengo, John Mullinax, and Dave Donnan.

We will be having a general league meeting on Friday, February 19, 6:30pm, at the CARD center.  Applications and fees can be turned in at that time.  We will discuss 2010 changes and try to answer any questions you may have.  Please plan on attending.

We are currently updating our website and plan on new information being added on at least a weekly basis.  This is our method of getting information out to the entire organization.  It will have schedules, standings (updated at least weekly), rosters, etc.  We will also get general information out to you as needed.

You can download a 2010 application by clicking on the 'sign up here' link above.  Please get these in  ASAP so that we can have an idea as to numbers at the draft.

The 3 divisions again are Open (ages 48 and over), Veterans (ages 58 and over), and Masters (ages 64 and over).  We will assume you want to play in your age appropriate division unless you indicate to us on the application form of a change.  It is still up to the Board of Directors to approve all changes.  You also need to indicate if you plan on playing in more then one division and pay an extra $40.

OPEN DIVISION:  Players generally between the ages of 48 - 57 plus older players with the ability and desire to play in the most competitive division.

VETERANS DIVISION:  Players generally between the ages of 58 - 63 plus older players with the ability and desire for a somewhat less competitive experience.

MASTERS DIVISION:  Players generally between the ages of 64 - 120 wishing to play a more relaxed game of softball commensurate with the desire and ability for recreation.

REMEMBER - You must have your application in by March 12 to insure your spot on a team.

Team drafts will take place the week following March 12.  We will only draft those whose applications have been received.  The others will be placed on teams by the Draft Committee as their applications are received.  Team managers will contact you about your team assignments or you can look it up on our website   chicoseniorsoftball.com.

Practices are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday starting Monday March 1 until Thursday March 25 from 4:00pm till dark at Sycamore Field.  Practices may also be scheduled Saturdays at Sycamore Field from 8am to 12 noon.

We would like to acknowledge all those who help to make our organization what it is.  Our sponsors, supporters, and members who have made meaningful contributions in past years, WE THANK YOU!

We always need sponsors for our teams.  If you know of anyone who might sponsor a senior team, please ask them.  There are many benefits of a sponsor.  Contact Dennis Simpson (521-1345) if you need any information or assistance in getting a sponsor.

Any questions, suggestions, complaints, or what have you, contact any of the Board members and we'll get right back to you.

Thanks again

Chico Senior Softball is comprised of three divisions, OPEN (48 and over), VETERANS (58 and over) and MASTERS (64 and over)

Our  schedule  runs from late March until mid September. All teams are redrafted every year to ensure parity and even competition. Fees are $80 per player and include a jersey and hat.

There are a number of senior rules to help reduce injuries and allow more players to participate. Above all, we want to have fun and enjoy the comradery of playing softball.
